Judge shocked convict’s ex-wife
Remarks link man to McLain case

Starla Markie has known for years that her ex-husband, Philip Scott Fournier, had some knowledge of the 29-year-old unsolved homicide of Joyce McLain, but was amazed to hear that a federal judge recently had identified him as a “person of interest” in the case.

“It was a shock. I didn’t expect that a judge would have openly called him out,” the 35-year-old Markie said during a telephone interview Wednesday from her home in Arizona. “I understood the encouragement to offer up what he knew, but the public recognition shocked me.

“I would expect him [the judge] to have other people encourage him [Fournier] to talk behind closed doors, but there were a half-dozen of his family members there, and it shocked me,” she said.

Just before sentencing Fournier, 48, on Dec. 7 to 6½ years imprisonment for possession of child pornography, U.S. District Judge John Woodcock urged him to disclose to investigators any information he has about the 1980 slaying of the 16-year-old sophomore at Schenck High School of East Millinocket.

“That case has hung like a dark cloud over that community and been very painful for many people. If you can help people in that community remove that cloud, I would urge you to do that,” Woodcock said.

Joyce McLain last was seen the night of Aug. 8, 1980, while jogging. Her partially clad body was found two days later in a clearing near the school. Her head and neck had been hit with a blunt object.

Woodcock made Fournier the first person publicly identified as a person of interest in the case.

Fournier did not respond in court. His court-appointed attorney said after the sentencing that her client had cooperated fully with investigators. Fournier’s mother, stepfather and sister, who live in East Millinocket and Woodville, have declined to comment on the judge’s statements.

The victim’s mother, Pamela McLain, has said Fournier, whom she knows as Scott, is among the 12 to 14 people mentioned to her by state police and others in connection with the homicide.

Fournier is a person of interest because sometime in the early hours of Aug. 9, 1980 — or after midnight on the night of Joyce McLain’s disappearance — he stole an oil truck and crashed into another vehicle. The theft’s timing left investigators wondering why Fournier was behaving so rashly, McLain said.

Fournier suffered a skull fracture in the accident and was in a coma for eight days, the judge said. His criminal record shows that he was charged with felony burglary and theft by unauthorized use of property, a misdemeanor, for the truck theft and sentenced to two years imprisonment on July 6, 1981. He served his sentence and was released.

Since his sentencing last month, Fournier had been held at the Cumberland County Jail in Portland. On Dec. 22, he was due to be transferred to the Federal Correctional Institution in Fort Dix, N.J., a federal Department of Justice official said.

The low-security facility houses male inmates on the Fort Dix-McGuire Air Force Base. As of Wednesday, prison officials and the Federal Bureau of Prisons online inmate locator at bop.gov listed Fournier as “in transit.”

Markie speaks guardedly of Fournier. When asked what she thought of his being convicted on child pornography charges, she said she was not surprised to hear of it. She did not elaborate.

Fournier’s troubles weren’t apparent when he met Markie in Bangor in the fall of 1995, she said. Both Brewer residents, she was 20, he was 34. He played on a softball team sponsored by Together Place, a social club for mental health consumers, she said.

“When you first meet him, he’s a really nice guy,” Markie said. “A little quiet, he likes to stay to himself. If he knows you need help with something, he will help you out.”

The relationship deepened when an ex-boyfriend began stalking her, Markie said.

“He took me and my son in, he offered his place up for us, helped support us for the first six months. He was amazing,” Markie said. “He encouraged my family ties. I actually got him to talk about his family, with whom he was estranged.”

Markie said Fournier’s possible connection to the McLain case became apparent when a rerun of the TV show “Unsolved Mysteries” featuring the McLain homicide came on television.

“He had become frustrated, saying that he tried to offer help, tried to offer [to the show’s producers] what he knew, and what they put in the episode differed from what he had told them. He didn’t understand how that would help,” Markie said.

Markie’s account doesn’t jibe with Pam McLain’s recollection. “I can’t remember Scott Fournier being anywhere around when ‘Unsolved Mysteries’ was here,” McLain said.

Markie said: “What he told me [of the accident] was brief. It was more frustration that he wasn’t being heard, because he wanted to offer information to help. He was in a coma. He told me he could not remember a lot. ... From what he told me, he answered the police honestly with every answer he put forth.”

Fournier and Markie married on April 7, 1997, and separated April 7, 1998. They divorced in spring 1999. She said they remained good friends until August 2001, when his treatment of their daughter became an issue, she said. She declined to elaborate.

Markie stopped regular contact with Fournier in June 2004. She last saw him in September 2004.

Married to Craig Markie on July 28, 2000, Starla Markie and the Markie family, including her daughter with Fournier, moved to Arizona in 2006. She said she knew Fournier was a person of interest to investigators before the judge’s statements, but declined to say how or when.

“I did a lot of growing, and I owe him for teaching me a lot,” Markie said. “He taught me things to look for, things that I want — he didn’t know it, but I learned a lot about what I am looking for through being with him.”

Let me see if I read this correctly: Starla Makrie is SUPRISED? this statement is cut & pasted from first paragraph; Starla Markie has known for years that her ex-husband, Philip Scott Fournier, had some knowledge of the 29-year-old unsolved homicide of Joyce McLain, but was amazed to hear that a federal judge recently had identified him as a “person of interest” in the case. “It was a shock. I didn’t expect that a judge would have openly called him out,” the 35-year-old Markie said during a telephone interview Wednesday from her home in Arizona. “I understood the encouragement to offer up what he knew, but the public recognition shocked me. To me it sounds like if she knew that he knew something she is just as responsible for not reporting it!!!!! Also WOW the marriage lasted 1 whole year to the day?? Must have been a GREAT guy!! I think he needs to stand up, be a MAN and tell what he knows, Let Joyce REST IN PEACE! & give Pam a rest and some releif of finally knowing what happened to her beloved daughter, she deserves it, to bad it could not have come in the form of a Chistmas gift that she sooo deserves, I do not know her personally, but my brother in law grew up in East Millinocket and grew up hearing about this murder, and I work with woman who said she had hung out with Joyce just the night before this happened, she aslo grew up in East Millinocket and said she and Joyce were friends and she remembers the sad news that day on 8/8/80 and how unbelievable it was to hear the news of Joyces death! Come on Starla he had to have told you sometrhing since you know he knows something about her death, why don't you be a WOMAN and report it, he had to have told you what he knew!!!! Help us help Pam SOLVE this almost 30yr old murder of her daughter, if it was your daughter wuldn't you want someone who knows somthing to stand up and tell it?? Or would you rather just have them be quiet and keep it to themselves, I think I know which you would choose, so do the right thing Starla!!!!!

Pam again my thoughts & prayers are with you in the solving of this horrific crime against your daughter, Joyce, she deserves to rest in peace! and you deserve just to finally rest and heal!

Hats off to BDN for continueing to cover this story. hopefully this killer will be caught soon.

i'd say this guy is more than a suspect. the coma is a perfect excuse for him to say "i don't remember anything"

and the timing of the truck theft.

DNA is one of the few ways this case will be solved. if the recent exhumation produced DNA, why wouldn't they get DNA samples from all the suspects? whats the hold up?

and you are so right convertiblegirl, this woman needs to explain what she knows now. if i were investigators, I'd be paying her a visit and if she didn't fess up, charge her. Despicable people.

Under a microscope you have an area on the slide...you know that what you are looking for is in that contained area...like a murder victim and anything that comes up in that area...like a truck accident...and any suspects...who have no reason to be there...behaving irrationally by stealing and crashing a truck...keeping to himself...guarded...perhaps being eaten alive with guilt from the inside out...pornography...perhaps this puzzle is about to have the last piece in place. Look the evidence over again with fresh eyes...

Man am I confused here about this story---- Question --- How can ( according to the new article ) Starla Markie be now just 35 years of age and also have been the ex wife to a man that has knowledge of a crime that happened 30 years ago in East Millinocket ?????- Starla Markie would have been about 5 years old at the time. The only thing I can imagine if in fact Starla was married to this bozo was that she was a child bride and he was a much older man --- Somebody who knows these people from East Millinocket please explain this to me - as I said I am confused

Booney- Cut & pasted from article: Fournier’s troubles weren’t apparent when he met Markie in Bangor in the fall of 1995, she said. Both Brewer residents, she was 20, he was 34. He played on a softball team sponsored by Together Place, a social club for mental health consumers, she said. SO NO she was not 5years old when she married this loser, try reading the whole story before posting!!!!!

Booney ,What are you confused about? Fournier was around 18 at the time of the murder and Starla was 5. That is a 13 year difference, but they didn,t marry until 1997.At that time she was around 23 and he was 35.Nothing strange about that. The only strange thing I find about this story is that she has been withholding information on a murder case for all this time. She is as guilty as the accused and should be held accountable for her stupidity.Poor Pam.Didn't Starla have one inkling of this mothers deep grief.Couldn't she have made life easier for all concerned and shared this info??Stupid!!

I know Mrs. Markie on a personal level for quite sometime. She was a kid when this happened to begin with. She was in her twenties when they met and married. So a child bride is not correct. Please read the whole story before commenting. She has told the authorities everything she knows which is not much. Most everything is hearsay, at this point, or all the rumors around the town that have been spread though out the years. We all hear the rumors and spread them more. I also know Philip (Scott) on a personal level. More than I want to at this point in time with all that he has gone through. People like him need help in so many ways. Now he is where he should be and hopefully he will speak on what he knows. Whether he had something to do with it or just knows who did. At this point, no one knows. The evidence and facts I think will come. The is just one more step towards Justice for Joyce.

Again I state, she knows nothing more than any one else. Just because they were married doesn't mean that Scott told her anything. Believe me, if she knew anything she would have told the authorities what she knew. She wants the killer or killers found out and convicted as much as any one. So stupid is not the right thing to say. She is a mother herself, so the deep grief, she does know. She went through hell, if any one has read the original article that started this whole thing.

I do not know Pam, but have A TON of respect for her, she is one spunky, tough, won't back down or take NO for an answer kind of woman, I love and respect her patience on "Justice for Joyce", I do not have any kids just cats, but if anything happened to my cats due to another person, God help them, the police would be the least of their worries. So I do not understand how she can be so calm, cool, and collected, about waiting for this terrible crime to be solved, I can only imagine what it does to a parent to lose a child in the prime of their life? I hope she gets all the answers so soon, if anyone deserves it, it would be Pam. She displays true strength and determination but still shows willingness to be patient. I could only hope I could be even have as great a lady as Pam. Pam I hope you have a VERY HAPPY NEW YEAR and hope this is the year you get all your answers, as they are much over due!!!! Hope to here you post on here, you always have such great words of wisdom and I always look forward to reading your thoughts, have you ever thought of writing a book, I think you would be a natural at it, as your insite is always so inspiring, and it would help other parents that are going through the same thoughts and feeelings, rather they be fresh wounds or like yours old wounds that have NOT had a chance to heal, I think that what you have gone through for the past 29 almost 30 years would be an asset to other victims parents/siblings. Just an idea I thought I would throw out as I think you would are strong enough and smart enough to do this, It may even help you heal a little more(not completely, that won't happen til you get the answers you have been waiting for), I don'tknow like I had said it was just an idea!

I'm not attorney, so bear with me, but I find it shocking that a judge can accuse a man of having a hand in a murder, from the bench, in public. This seems outrageous to me - how is it legal for some judge to accuse a man of murder, without any due process or evidence. This smells like a defamation suit to me. It also looks to me like this guy will have a hard time getting a fair trial if they ever charge him with a crime. I think this judge's head may be growing too big for his robe.

I hope that this murder is actually solved her mother really needs to know whom and what actually happened. She has waited long enough.

Bangorian- The judge DID NOT accuse him of having "a hand in the murder" as you put it he did however tell him it would be in his BEST INTRESEST to tell what he does know about Joyce's murder, he is on the suspect list, and from the sounds of it, from what the ex wife says he does know something, so he should just MAN UP and tell what he knows, help ease a mothers pain, she has had to deal with this for almost 30 years while the killer gets to live his life pain free, unless of course he is plagued by dreams of Joyce every night over and over again, one can only hope!!!!! BUt when you are this brutal and heartless not much can bother you, look wat they did to the grave site and the cross where she passed away just a few short months ago! LOSER and COWARD is all they are!!!! To scared to stand up and pay for their crime!!

Bangorian, i am no fan of overzealous judges, but you sound like you want this scum back out on the street. cmon this guy is scum and the judge is calling like it is. defamation suit? you sound like a spokesman for pedophiles rights. poor pedophiles................they just deserve a second chance don't they?

Obviously Fournier discussed the McLain case with his ex-wife (Starla) and she may have information that she doesn't realize will help the investigators. Sometimes there are just a few key pieces needed to solve and complete a puzzle.

I didn't get the impression that the judge was accusing Fournier of Joyce McLain's murder, he was rather, telling Fournier to cooperate with the investigators and to give them any information Fournier had.

May 2010 bring closure to this mystery so Joyce can rest in peace and Pam can final know what happened so many years ago. Hat's off to Pam for never taking no for an answer. You are an inspiration to us all!

Could the treatment of their daughter possible be any abuse, let's say child sexual abuse because anyone that looks at child pornography is really, really, sick. This woman is obviously confused about alot of things: first she says that he "was a really nice guy" but then she says she is not surprised about his viewing child porn. What's up with her?

If Starla knows more, I would suggest she go to state police. I feel the judge only asked that Scott tell what he knows? Its a known fact that in all these years Scott knows something? But over the years, I believe he has changed his story or stories several times?I do know Starla's family, I really don't know Starla, But I'm sure she would want Joyce's case solved.I talked to Scott myself this past summer for at least three hours, He came to my home and I was pretty hard on him, I must say he held up well, So did I.Do we all think the State Police has never talked to Starla?? I don't know, But I would hope that they had already. I had no comment on this story, as I've talked to several of the people who has had their names mentioned in Joyce's murder? I've never talked about them in a public way, and I didn't feel to do so w/ Scott. No matter what Scott done in his life it doesn't make him a killer, until proved to be one. I guess we have to rely on the State Police to find out who Joyce's killer is? Do we think 30 years of working on a case is enough time? I for one does. I would be real proud of our State Police if they called in the FBI to help them SOLVE this one, I wonder Why they don't??? Its been 30 years in 2010 :( Joyce's Mom , Pam

i have little faith in the maine state police, they let my mother-in-law's killer walk. but i hope they find something on this case. my prayers are that they will get a break and i believe they will. God also listens to the the fervent prayers of mothers. "the prayers of the righteous availeth much"

I don't this skum on the street any more than the next guy, but I do want him to have a fair trial, as I would anyone.

Convertible girl - you're splitting hairs with me. To suggest that he is a suspect in a murder, or that he has inside knowledge of a murder, IS THE SAME THING as 'having a hand in the murder.' This judge should be sent packing - certainly the justice system in this area deserves better than this.

BANGORIAN- I am not going to argue with you over something so dumb, his wife even says he KNOWS SOMETHING about this crime, he should just man up & speak up!!!!! I never stated he was guilty, it has even been said in past articles he was on the "suspect" llist. The judge just probably wants this murder solved like the rest of us and is trying to get answers! If you think this desreves firing, than you have a problem. As far as the splitting hairs with you, ARE YOU BALD??? I have pleanty of hair so I will share if you need it I usually donate it to "locks of love" bit if you need it more!!!!????? I will send it to you instead????

I am almost certain that most of you do not personally know Starla. If you do not I just want you to know that she is a hard working, law abiding citizen and an incredible mother. I am not going to join in your game and attack anyone here but I do have a question I would love for convertiblegirl to answer. Why would you ever possibly feel that it is warrented for you or even others to attack her{Starla} or her innocent minor CHILD? I have read a lot about this murder & if this is how someone who cooperated is being treated then why would anyone else ever step forward to speak?? Pam & her beautiful family need this murder solved.

God Bless you & your precious family Starla!!!

Anyone else who has any information please do not be scared to come forward as well for Justice for Joyce is near, I can just feel it!!

We should applaud Judge Woodcock's brilliant move to put public pressure on someone who clearly appears to know more than he's saying. Thank you, Judge.

SnarkyButthead- Could not agree with you more!!!!! The Judge should be applauded for this smart move, he know that this loseer knows something that would HELP solve the case.

As far as BLESSED- I don't know why you called me out specifically, especially when others were saying the exact same thing I said! All I said was she (Starla) must know some of what he told her, it says no where in the story that she cooperated with police and told what she knew so that is answer to your question #1, Now Question #2 I NEVER attacked her child, all I said was "wouldn't she want the person to tell what they know if it were her child this happened to??" I think she would. ALL of this is in my very 1st post so put your glasses on and read it again! I attacked no one with what I said!!!!!

Thanks, cgirl.

cgirl--go back and read the original articles from when Scott pled guilty and when he was sentenced. While "this" may not have happened to Starla's child, there is a strong probability that *something* happened to her child. The details of that *something* are not printable but recall what sort of activities Scott engaged in and use your imagination. Starla has no motivation to help Scott get off or avoid the consequences of his behaviors.

There have been comments about Starla's use of the term "shocked." Let's be clear, she was shocked at the fact that she was shocked at the fact that the judge would bring into court the circumstances of two cases, cases that Scott was neither charged with nor convicted of. Such a procedure is highly irregular and shocking.

You will be happy to know that Starla has been in close communication with the authorities at the local, state, and federal levels for going on ten years. She is not at liberty to talk about what she has done but rest assured, she has not kept quiet.

Snarkybutthead wrote:

I couldn't agree more, I highly doubt judge Woodcock would have said that without know if Scott knew anything or not after all he is a judge and probably a lot tighter in the loop than most commenters here.......

I apologise for posting BEFORE I read the whole article - sorry bout that

Well CONVERTIBLEGIRL,

{{I am not going to join in your game and attack anyone here but I do have a question I would love for convertiblegirl to answer. Why would you ever possibly feel that it is warrented for you or even others to attack her{Starla} or her innocent minor CHILD? I have read a lot about this murder & if this is how someone who cooperated is being treated then why would anyone else ever step forward to speak??}}

Was what I said...

{{that it is warrented for you or even others to attack her{Starla} or her innocent minor CHILD}}

please re-read it again...

{{for you or even others}}

do you see it now??

If you didn't attack her child, then what I said previously does not apply directly to you any longer, therefore that may very well be indicitive that the {{OR EVEN OTHERS}} part of that sentence may at that time, then become applicable.

WELL BLESSED - Aren't we Just a little B!t#&Y TODAY! IS it the snow making you this way or are you ALWAYS this way, MY guess is your always like this, and YES YOU DID DIRECT IT AT ME, I CAN READ (you said CONVERTIBLEGIRL, who else would you have been refering to????)!!!!! WHY don't you change your screen name becasue it really does NOT fit your personality in your posts!!!!! & I really doubt you are that BLESSED! I am done conversing with you, you are not worth my time!!! I have better things to do than talk to a person that is like you!

i just pray for pam and a ending to this nightmare for her. if he did it, it will all come out in the wash someday, be patient. as for his xwife, just becuase you marry someone, doesnt mean, there going to spill there guts about there past. maybe the xwife is telling the truth, and people should stop badgering her. go for the real culprit, her x husband. lie detector test would put this story to rest.

Let us use our energy for a prayer for Joyce's case to be solved in 2010 :) :) I thank anyone who comes forward with information, we can't argue why they didn't come sooner, we can, but it won't help Joyce's case get solved. I feel someone knows something, and I ask them to come forward ?? Are we going to accept this or b--ch at them for not coming sooner?? Please let us ask folks to come talk if they feel they have anything no matter how small they feel it is, as it just might be the small piece that solves it !!!!!.I want justice for Joyce, Please pray for it to be. 2010, its only fair the person fess up, go to prison, Let justice prevail, Joyce to RIP, the rest of us say Thank You, and move forward with the rest of our lives.I say Thank You God, and AMEN.

Good luck finding the killler.

FAMILIAR_REALM- Why does your comment almost sound sarcastic & taunting? I looked up in the dictionary what realm meant and it makes me wonder about you even more- meaning- A scope or field of any power or influence!!!!!

I thought this too. But who is he?? And Yes Familiar _ Realm, We will find the killer. Happy New Year to you and yours Familiar_ Realm. I expect 2010 to be a really good one for me, mine, and all our friends. Joyce will RIP, And we will go on with out this hanging over our heads.. To have a killer fess up, Anything is possible with Jesus Christ our Lord God. And in HIS time it will be done. And I say Amen. Pam (Joyce's mom)

convertiblegirl I would guess that you were called out by Blessed because you made some assumptions about people and situations that you don't know anything about. The question was directed at you, that was obvious, but it also didn't claim that YOU made comments about the child. It didn't have to say in the article she cooperated....of course leaving that tidbit out gives people like you all they need to jump on the bandwagon of assumption and make comments that are better left unsaid.

You may not feel you attacked anyone but there were some serious statements/accusations made by you....

"To me it sounds like if she knew that he knew something she is just as responsible for not reporting it!!!!!"

"Come on Starla he had to have told you sometrhing since you know he knows something about her death, why don't you be a WOMAN and report it, he had to have told you what he knew!!!!"

I live right around the corner from Pam and pray everyday that this case is resolved SOON! People like you convertiblegirl should learn to keep their lips buttoned up if they don't know details. would have been one thing for you to ASK the question if she cooperated or not but to assume and make the statements you did....uncalled for.

Blessed does have a great point convertiblegirl:

"if this is how someone who cooperated is being treated then why would anyone else ever step forward to speak??"

Starla my prayers go out for you and your family.....right along with Pam's! JUSTICE FOR JOYCE!

I wouldn't say Starla Markie necessarily knows anything (her ex could have kept her totally in the dark). The key is that this was a small town. The exact timing of the events is what matters. If TWO very odd things happen around the same time in a small town (especially late at night), then you can be quite certain they are connected.

Wow, I am beyond astonished that simple intelligence could somehow be mistaken as an attitude. I guess one could have possibly anticipated that from anyone who could sincerely compare Joyce to a cat. Pam, I will continue to pray for you, Joyce & your family. I will pray that you will be blessed so very soon with Justice for Joyce...

Besides this comment I want NOTHING further to do with you!!!! I NEVER compared Joyce to a CAT, I stated I DO NOT HAVE KIDS, I only have cats (which are like my kids) so I could ONLY RELATE in the area of if anything happened to my cats as it did Joyce,I do not understand how Pam could be so patient and calm, asI stated in my post I would not be able to wait this long for justice. Still NOT comparing her to a CAT just only way I have to relate as my cats are something I love as I would a Child!!! Forget it yuou are not worth the time to try explaining it to!!!!!!! But yes you did have ATTITUDE when you CALLED ME OUT specificallly, I am the only convertiblegirl on her so I don't know which othe rone you would have been referring to, you should have stated it better such as all of you against Starla instead of directing the question directly to me!!!!

Please, What I said in my comment :) Please everyone read it again. This back and forth picking at each other doesn't get things done.It hurts each other, and some of us don't understand why??? its done? I have a dead child :( That I want JUSTICE for, Joyce would hate the argues on her behalf for sure. Please like one another and say a prayer for JUSTICE FOR JOYCE. RIP Joyce Marie, I love you, your mother ( Pam )

We all must realize there is a risk when typing online that someone can read your sentence in one of 2 ways. 1)The way you intended it to be read. or 2)The way they think that you intended it to be read. I will not apologize for trying to clarify things with the youngster who was trying to make my words look cruel, that behavior appeared unacceptable to me; however I do believe that I can agree to disagree... To Pam, I personally want to say to you that I am so deeply sorry if you honestly at any time felt that my tone in these posts was meant to be anything other than sincere & direct. All my words were honestly meant to be taken as nothing but hearfelt & compassionate. I thought my grammar was very clear but perhaps not. I will not post again for fear that this will escalate this situation & only further detract from the real issue at hand, finding & convicting Joyce's killer/s. As always, praying for Justice for Joyce! Truce??? Let's move on, we both want the same thing...

Pam McClain you are amazing in your continued efforts to bring "Justice for Joyce", your daughter. I applaud your strength and endurance. I am joyful that you are holding the light up to God to show the way. You are so right in that Joyce would want " cooperation" on all levels as this matter continues to it's conclusion. Sometimes we do not realize that the trials and tribulations in our lives are things that teach us so much. Joyce must be very proud of you, her Mother. " Dear Lord, you know this Mother's heart and you have her daughter in your loving arms. I pray this morning that you bring peace to this situation, resounding resolution. There is a witness beyond any question in Joyce's murder Lord, you. Please hear our prayers. Amen. "

And I say AMEN. Thank You. <3 I'm not saying anyone done, or said wrong, I enjoy reading all comments no matter what is said, I don't have to agree and yes we can come back with a comment, but then its time to stop as it may get to hurting words and I'm sure most of you are doing it because you care. I thank you all for posting, and please don't feel the need to stop postins as I care that you care ok? with love, Pam ( Joyce's mom)

Pam I first would like to apologize as none of my posts were meant in a hurtful or disrepectful manner, I also would like to apologize if they were taken that way. I never meant to compare Joyce to a cat, as one poster indicated, and I am sorry if you took it that way it was not meant the way she made it sound, all I was saying was I have 3 cats and they are like my children and if something were to happen to them I do not think I could be as patient as you have been. We all want Joyces murder brought to Justice, I work with a lady who grew up with Joyce and she said she remembers all of this vividly, and she had actually hung out with Joyce the night before this terrible crime happened, and she remembers how the community reacted to this news of Joyces murder. My Brother in law also grew uo in East Millinocket and went to Schenck H.S and remembers how the community never forgot the murder he is 37 yrs old so he never knew Joyce but he remembers alot of the news coverage on it as do I, I remember seeing it on Unsolved Mysteries as a child, I am 34 yrs old so I am to youing to remember the actual news coverage on the horrific story and I hope and pray for you that 2010 is the year you get ALL the long awaited answers you so deserve. I hope the coward that did this is plagued by dreams of this nightly and will finally do the right thing and come forward! WE ALL WANT THE SAME THING AND THAT IS JUSTICE FOR JOYCE, AND FOR HER TO FINALLY BE ABLE TO REST IN PEASE AND YOU TO FINALLY BE ABLE TO GET YOUR ANSWERS SO THAT YOU ARE ABLE TO BE AT PEACE ALSO! So I do apologize to you if any of my posts were taken offense to they were not intended that way at all! So again I would just llike to say I am sorry if I did offend you in any way!
